Christmas Goose
AVAILABLE CHRISTMAS 2024
Orders being taken NOW
By choosing a Longland Farm goose you are supporting a way of farming that truly puts the welfare of the goose first.
Giles and Kate lovingly rear the geese in beautiful Elham, near Canterbury. With plentiful access to high quality food, water and luscious grass, they are free to roam their meadow during the day, and kept safe and secure at night. This generous natural environment ensures they live a happy, stress free life.
We process them ourselves on site to eliminate travel and minimise stress and to maintain the highest possible standards of care and quality. They are carefully game hung to develop their luxurious depth of flavour and dry plucked by hand for crisper skin.
Your goose will come in a presentation box, with giblets, a ball of fat for your potatoes and easy to follow cooking instructions. Recycleable box, no plastic.
We only raise a small number of geese, so ordering early is recommended. A £20 deposit is payable at time of order. 2024 Price: £20 per kilo
As bird weights vary, please let us know roughly what size bird you would like.
Small 4-5kg, Medium 5-6kg, Large over 6kg.
"The best goose I have ever eaten!" -Rosemary Shrager 2022
"Just a note to thank you for an excellent Christmas Goose, the flavour just shows the personal care that has gone into rearing your stock throughout the year. You'd expect to get this standard in a London restaurant - it was far, far better than the processed equivalents via the supermarkets! Thanks again for a real Christmas treat!"

"We had goose for the first time this Christmas which we bought from the butchers at the Goodshed. It was one of yours and it was wonderful. So well presented and with a lovely taste and so moist. We can see how your beliefs as stated in your brochure are real. Congratulations and we are so pleased to have been able to support you."

Field Reared Whole Goose
"A compact goose with delightful conformation. It's clearly well prepared - we loved nibbling on the skin. The flesh was dense and iron-rich, the leg meat strikingly moist, yet firm. As noted the skin and subcutaneous fat tasted rich, clean, full-flavoured. A very pleasing bird, and a great size for a family Easter feast. We loved reading about the husbandry, which has clearly had the desired result."
